Juicing Information

According to Nutritional Typing principles, if you are a carb type, vegetable juices are very good for you. If you are a mixed type, it is positively useful to juice. On the other hand, protein types need to follow some guiding principle to make it work for them.

Two Types of Carbohydrates: simple and complex

Simple carbohydrates: fruit and milk are better choice of carbs, because they contain fiber, vitamins and nutrients.

Complex carbohydrates: also known as starches which include grain products, such as bread, crackers, pasta, rice.

Protein Foods:
  • Milk
  • Soy Milk
  • Eggs
  • Cheese
  • Yogurt
  • Peanut Butter
  • Lean Meats, Fish, and Poultry
  • Beans, Tofu, Lentils, and other Legumes
  • Grains, including bread and pasta
  • Nuts and Seeds

  • For a protein type, juicing needs to be done carefully. The only vegetables that should be juiced are your major protein type vegetables, which are celery, spinach, asparagus, string beans and cauliflower.

    It is important to keep your serving size of juice to no more than 6 oz., but for a protein type, 3-4 oz. of juice may fill the right amount. It is important to blend a source of raw fat into the juice for protein type metabolism. Avocado, coconut butter, ground flax seed are the good sources of raw fat.

    Reasons to Juice
    • Juicing helps you absorb all the nutrients from the vegetables.
    • Juicing allows you to consume the best possible amount of vegetables.
    • With juicing, you can add a wide selection of vegetables which you may not enjoy eating whole.
    It is very important to listen to your body when juicing. If you juiced something that is not right for you, your stomach will react upon it. Try not to use that certain vegetable in large quantities.

    Juices to start with:
  • Celery
  • Fennel (anise)
  • Cucumbers

    When you've juiced the vegetables above and they had a good affect on your body, you can then add more vegetables:
  • Red leaf lettuce
  • Green Leaf lettuce
  • Romaine lettuce
  • Spinach
  • Cabbage
  • Parsley
